  9. This Driver Diskette includes the following device driver:

  12. This Readme provides the following information:

  14. 1.1 Installing "IBM THINKPAD 555MB" Using Driver Disk
  15. 1.2 Installing SCSI Adapter Device Drivers under
  16.     IBM OS/2 Version 2.x

  19. 1.1 INSTALLING "IBM THINKPAD 555MB" USING DRIVER DISK
  20.     To install the device driver, follow these steps:
  21.     1. "Select one of any backup device ..  from the Utilities".
  22.     2. Insert this diskette into your diskette drive, and
  23.        select [Driver Disk].
  24.     3. In the "Load Device Drivers Diskette" window, enter
  25.        the letter that represents your drive (A: is the
  26.        default), and select [OK].
  27.     4. At the "Select Backup Device Drivers" window, select
  28.        the driver name and choose [OK].
  29.     5. To add the device to the backup device list, select
  30.        "Add new device" at the "Backup device setup..."
  31.        window.
  32.     6. Configure the backup device using instructions in the
  33.        Sytos Plus User's Guide.
  34.  
  35.     Ensure that the SCSI adapter driver is installed as
  36.     described in the following section.

  38. 1.2 INSTALLING SCSI ADAPTER DEVICE DRIVERS UNDER IBM OS/2
  39.     VERSION 2.x
  40.     Currently this release of Sytos Plus supports TMC-850IBM SCSI host
  41.     adapters.  Future support will follow.  In order to run Sytos Plus with a 
  42.     SCSI host adapter in the IBM OS/2 2.x environment, make sure the
  43.     following two lines appear in your CONFIG.SYS file:

  45.          BASEDEV=FD850IBM.ADD
  46.          BASEDEV=OS2SCSI.DMD
  47.  
  48.     where FD850IBM.ADD corresponds to the SCSI Adapter
  49.     Device Driver.
  50.          NOTE:  FD850IBM.ADD should be on the option
  51.          diskette that comes with your host adapter.
  52.     If the lines are not in CONFIG.SYS, refer to your
  53.     IBM OS/2 2.x documentation to add them.
  54.          NOTE: Under version 2.0, you must have the
  55.          OS/2 v2.0 Service Pack (Version XR06055),
  56.          also known as the Corrective Service
  57.          Facility, installed on your system to
  58.          support backup devices that use SCSI host
  59.          adapters.  If you do not have the OS/2 v2.0
  60.          Service Pack installed, you will encounter
  61.          problems running Sytos Plus under OS/2
  62.          v2.0.  Contact your IBM representative to
  63.          obtain the Service Pack.

  65.     Reboot your system to let these changes take effect.
